Profile

In short

I lead planting-led landscape projects where land meets water. I work from site survey through to the first growing season, and I translate between ecologists, engineers and the people who will actually walk the path.

My best work happens early, while grading, drainage and plant palettes can still shape each other. I write clear specifications, run calm consultations and stay involved until the planting has established.

Selected work

Three projects

  1. Saltmarsh Promenade renewal

Design lead · Concept to establishment

I replaced a failing sea-wall lawn with a stepped marsh edge and a raised boardwalk. The planting palette was chosen to tolerate periodic overtopping, so the promenade now recovers after winter tides without being reseeded.

  2. Harbour School courtyard gardens

    Project architect · Participatory design

I ran planting workshops with pupils and staff, then developed a wind-sheltered courtyard of herb beds and thyme lawns that the school maintains as part of its science curriculum.

  3. Dune path & access strategy

    Landscape strategist · Multi-agency brief

I mapped informal desire lines across a fragile dune system and consolidated them into a small set of timber routes. Restoration planting then closed the eroding shortcuts.
